How Do Upgrades and Downgrades Work?

In this article, we'll go over how upgrading and downgrading your plan works on Social Cat.

Managing your subscription should be easy and flexible, and Social Cat allows you to upgrade or downgrade based on your needs. Here’s a straightforward guide on how each process works.


Upgrading Your Plan 🚀

What It Means: You want to increase your plan level to access more features, work with more creators, or get additional benefits.

Action: You can upgrade at any time, and the change takes effect immediately.

How It Works:

  • The upgrade is applied instantly.

  • You are charged a prorated amount for the remaining days of your billing cycle based on the new plan’s pricing.

  • Your new plan benefits will be available right away.

💡 Example: If your billing cycle is from the 1st to the 30th and you upgrade on the 15th, you’ll pay the prorated difference for the rest of the month, and your new plan features will be unlocked immediately.


Downgrading Your Plan 📉

What It Means: You want to reduce your plan level, whether due to budget adjustments or lower collaboration needs.

Action: You can request a downgrade at any time, but the change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

How It Works:

  • You will continue to have access to your current plan until the end of your billing period.

  • The downgrade will be applied automatically at the next renewal date.

  • No immediate refunds or adjustments are made for downgrading mid-cycle, as you retain full benefits until your next cycle starts.

💡 Example: If your billing cycle runs from the 1st to the 30th and you request a downgrade on the 10th, you will still have your current plan benefits until the 30th. The new, lower-tier plan will begin on the 1st of the next month.
