What happens if a brand does not pay me?

Edited

We’re sorry to hear you’re dealing with this issue. If a brand does not pay you, here’s what you can do to resolve the situation:

Steps to Take:

  1. Follow up with the brand:
Reach out to the brand through the Inbox. We recommend following up up to three times, spaced three days apart.

  2. Inform the brand of the potential consequences:
Let the brand know that failing to pay may result in the cancellation of their Social Cat membership, depending on the situation.

Tips to Protect Yourself:

  • Have a contract:
Ensure you have a contract that clearly outlines deliverables, timelines, and payment amounts for the collaboration.

  • Check brand reviews:
Before committing to a collaboration, review a brand’s feedback from other creators to identify any red flags.

  • Watermark your content:
Watermark your content as an extra layer of protection. Upload it to the platform to show the brand that the content is ready.

  1. Request partial payment upfront:
You may also ask for a partial payment upfront or request full payment before removing the watermark and posting the content.

  2. Leave a review:
If you don’t receive payment, be sure to leave a review to alert other creators about the brand’s behavior.

Important: Brands who fail to pay their creators risk losing access to Social Cat. ⚠️

While Social Cat connects brands and creators, we do not manage the collaboration process directly, so we are unable to handle payments on your behalf.
