Why creators must accept the contract before brands ship their products?

Edited

In this article, we'll learn about contracts and why it's mandatory for them to be drafted & accepted before products are shipped.

To ensure successful collaborations and manage expectations, creators must accept the contract and the terms of the collaboration before brands ship their products. Here's how it works:

1. Drafting the contract: Once matched with a creator, draft a contract outlining all the collaboration details. This includes deliverables, the deadline to post the content, and any specific requirements. You'll know most of these details from their application, but you can also communicate with them directly via messages.

2. Creator reviews and accepts the contract: The creator must review and accept the contract and terms of the collaboration. If they reject it, they will let you know why so you can re-draft the contract and send it over again.

3. Shipping the product: Only after the creator has accepted the contract should you update the status to "Pending shipping" then ship your product and mark the status as "Product shipped."

It's important to agree on all the details of the collaboration before the products are sent to creators. In some cases, brands collaborate with influencers without having a contract drafted before sending the products.

This is a mistake because the collaboration deliverables were not added to a contract, which was agreed upon by both parties. If a misunderstanding appears, our team first checks the contract to understand what was agreed upon.

Unfortunately, our team cannot help if brands do not draft contracts and are unhappy with the deliverables. It is a brand's responsibility to draft and send contracts to ensure the deliverables are agreed upon.

Once a collaboration is live without a contract, our team cannot do anything about it. If a contract has been drafted and the influencer has not respected their part of the agreement, we can intervene in your favor.
