Creator Account Access Reviews and Engagement Rate Requirements
At Social Cat, we want to help brands connect with creators who align with their values and can genuinely reach and engage their audiences. To maintain a high-quality community for both brands and creators, all creator accounts are subject to ongoing reviews, even after approval.
Here's everything you need to know about our account reviews, engagement rate requirements, and what to do if you can no longer see collaboration opportunities.
1. Can my account access be reviewed after I've been approved?
Yes! Approval on Social Cat isn't permanent.
We periodically review creator accounts to ensure they continue to meet our platform standards. These reviews may consider several factors, including:
Engagement rate: Whether your audience is actively engaging with your content.
Content quality: The quality, consistency, and overall presentation of your content.
Profile aesthetics: Whether your content and overall profile presentation align with the standards and values of our platform.
If an account no longer meets our requirements, Social Cat reserves the right to deactivate the account or restrict access to new collaboration opportunities.
Being approved previously doesn't guarantee continued access, so it's important to keep your profile and content up to date and continue working on your performance.
IMPORTANT: If you're account has been rejected, you can work on improving your content and reapply in a month!
2. How does engagement rate monitoring work?
Our system automatically monitors creator engagement rates to help ensure that the content promoted through Social Cat can reach and resonate with an engaged audience.
Our engagement rate is calculated based on your follower count and the number of interactions (likes and comments) on your recent posts. While we can’t share the exact formula used by our system, please note that third-party tools or social media platforms may display different engagement rates due to differences in calculation methods. These differences don’t necessarily indicate an error, as Social Cat uses its own methodology to evaluate creator engagement.
Engagement rates are evaluated individually for each social media account linked to your Social Cat profile. This means that if you have multiple social media accounts connected, each account is assessed separately based on its own performance and follower count.
Maintaining a healthy engagement rate is important because brands use Social Cat to promote their products to audiences who are likely to interact with their content.
Please note: Engagement rate monitoring is automated, and our team cannot manually adjust your engagement rate or override the system's calculations.
3. Why can't I see collaboration opportunities anymore?
If you previously had access to collaboration opportunities but can no longer see them, one possible reason is that your engagement rate has fallen below the required threshold for one or more of your connected social media accounts.
Here's what you should do:
Log in to your Social Cat account.
Open your Dashboard.
Review your social media account information and check whether your engagement rates meet the current requirements.
If your engagement rate doesn't meet the requirements, you may temporarily lose access to opportunities associated with that account.
If you have more than one social media account connected, you may still be eligible for opportunities on the platform where your engagement rate meets the requirements.
For example, if your Instagram engagement rate is below the required threshold but your TikTok engagement rate meets it, you may still be able to apply for TikTok collaborations.
4. Can Social Cat manually adjust my engagement rate?
No. Our engagement rate monitoring system operates automatically, and our team cannot manually change your calculated engagement rate to restore access to opportunities.
If your engagement rate falls below the required threshold, we encourage you to focus on improving your account performance and audience engagement.
Some ways to work on this include:
Create engaging content: Focus on content that encourages genuine interaction from your audience.
Post consistently: Maintain a regular posting schedule that works for you and your audience.
Know your audience: Create content that aligns with your followers' interests.
Encourage meaningful interaction: Use questions, conversations, and other relevant formats to invite genuine engagement.
Keep your profile active: Continue publishing quality content that reflects your niche and personal style.
Engagement rates can change over time, so consistently monitoring your performance can help you stay on track.
5. Why is engagement rate important on Social Cat?
Engagement rate helps us assess whether a creator's audience actively interacts with their content. This matters because brands invest in collaborations to introduce their products to relevant audiences and encourage genuine interest.
Our requirements help maintain a marketplace where brands can discover creators whose content and audience engagement align with their campaign goals.
Meeting the requirements doesn't guarantee access to every campaign, as brands may also have their own selection criteria, but it helps ensure you remain eligible for opportunities on the platform.
Still have questions?
If you're unsure why you can no longer access certain opportunities, start by checking your Dashboard and reviewing the engagement rates of each connected social media account.
